Cotton steady to firm in West India, Gujarat ginners on strike

Mumbai – Cotton prices quoted steady to firm in West India Wednesday on limited selling and improved demand. Ginners of Gujarat are on two days strike from today to protest against cotton export ban.

Gujarat, new A grade S-6 cotton traded at Rs 33,300- 33,500 per candy and B grade cotton at Rs 32,800-33,000 per candy. Prices of old V-797 cotton grade A  were at Rs 25,000-25,200 while New V 797 offered at Rs 23,500- 24,000 a candy.

In Maharashtra A grade cotton low micronaire quoted at Rs 30,300-30,800 per candy and A grade high micronaire cotton 29+ MM quoted at 31,400-31,900 per candy.

In Madhya Pradesh, A grade cotton low micronaire quoted at Rs 30,300-30,800 per candy and A grade high micronaire cotton 29+ MM quoted at 31,400-31,900 per candy.
