KARACHI, Sept 18: The country has produced around 2.626 million bales of cotton so far. Out of these, 1.695m bales have been harvested in Sindh and 0.931m bales in the Punjab.
As the data was not collected last year for the fortnight ending on Sept 15, production figures of cotton issued by the Pakistan Cotton Ginners’ Association (PCGA) on Wednesday gave no comparative data.
The fortnightly flow, however, improved, as around 0.900m bales were produced.
These figures further disclose that 2.211m bales were purchased by spinners during the period under review and 106,086 bales by exporters.
