Singer Sam Smith has landed his very first fashion campaign, posing up a storm for the storied French couture house Balenciaga.
Yes #BALXSAMSMITH is go, with the first Insta-teasers emerging last night.
‘Ladies and gentlemen. The time has come for my first ever collaboration with a fashion house. You ready?’ the Stay With Me singer posted on Instagram last night, to a resounding ‘hell yeah’ from his 3.2 million followers.
‘So honoured and ecstatic to announce my collaboration with @BALENCIAGA on the upcoming autumn/winter menswear collection! You’ll be able to see my full campaign very soon. So happy.’
Selected to front the brand’s AW15 menswear campaign by creative director Alexander Wang, Sam was snapped by fashion photographer Josh Olins and also cuts a signature silhouette in an accompanying mini-video.
The faces of Balenciaga’s womenswear ad campaign are Kate Moss and Lara Stone, meaning the 23-year-old Brit singer is in some seriously haute company.
Balenciaga HQ are (obviously) equally chuffed with the collaboration. ‘Lights, Camera…Stay tuned for the upcoming FW15 Men’s Campaign in collaboration with Sam Smith.’ They posted in response.
