US weekly cotton export for week ending Feb 18, 2016

Net upland sales totaling 110,600 RB for 2015/2016 were down 64 percent from the previous week and 52 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for China (21,200 RB), Indonesia (17,300 RB, including 700 RB switched from Japan), Turkey (15,700 RB), Vietnam (13,500 RB, including 300 RB switched from Japan), and Colombia (7,700 RB).

For 2016/2017, net sales of 18,700 RB were reported for Mexico (12,000 RB), Guatemala (10,600 RB), and Japan (1,600 RB). Reductions were reported for Turkey (4,400 RB) and Peru (1,100 RB).

Exports of 171,500 RB were up 5 percent from the previous week, but down 7 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Vietnam (34,800 RB), Turkey (31,000 RB), Mexico (19,600 RB), Thailand (15,900 RB), and China (10,400 RB).

Net sales of Pima totaling 10,800 RB for 2015/2016 were up 7 percent from the previous week, but down 33 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for Turkey (2,800 RB), India (2,600 RB), China (2,000 RB), Peru (1,300 RB), and Austria (900 RB).

Exports of 9,000 RB were down 66 percent from the previous week and 38 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were India (2,900 RB), China (2,000 RB), Turkey (1,800 RB), Egypt (900 RB), and Pakistan (900 RB).
