Karachi cotton association demands three percent duty cut on imports

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Cotton association has demanded the government to cut three percent tax on import in light of dismal production of the cotton this season, Dunya News reported Saturday.

Textile mills are facing issues due to lower production of cotton this season. Association concerned has demanded the authorities to cut two percent import duty and one percent regulatory duty on cotton import.

Lessened duty will decrease the production cost at the mills. Pakistan’s exported products will benefit in the international market owing to lessened manufacturing cost.
